Aspect Ratio Calculator

Find the aspect ratio of any resolution and scale it to new dimensions without distortion.

Aspect ratio: 16:9

Widescreen (TVs, most monitors)

Scale to a new size (same ratio):

Common display aspect ratios

  • 16:9 — 1920×1080, 2560×1440, 3840×2160. The standard for monitors and TVs.
  • 16:10 — 1920×1200, 2560×1600. Popular on productivity laptops.
  • 21:9 — 2560×1080, 3440×1440. Ultrawide monitors for gaming and multitasking.
  • 32:9 — 5120×1440. Super ultrawide, equal to two 27″ QHD panels side by side.
  • 4:3 — 1024×768, 1600×1200. Legacy displays and some retro gaming setups.

How scaling works

To resize an image or video without stretching, both dimensions must change by the same factor. Enter a new width above and the calculator returns the height that preserves the original ratio (new height = new width × original height ÷ original width).
