Screen PPI Calculator

Work out the pixel density of any display from its resolution and diagonal size.

Pixel density: 108.8 PPI

Dot pitch: 0.2335 mm · Total pixels: 3.7 MP

Standard density — fine for gaming and general use at arm’s length.

What is PPI?

PPI (pixels per inch) measures how tightly packed a display's pixels are. It is calculated as the diagonal resolution in pixels divided by the diagonal size in inches: √(width² + height²) ÷ diagonal.

What's a good PPI for a monitor?

Around 90–110 PPI is the classic desktop standard (e.g. 24″ 1080p or 27″ 1440p). 140–160 PPI (27″ 4K) gives noticeably crisper text but usually needs OS scaling. Phones and laptops commonly exceed 200–450 PPI, where individual pixels are invisible at normal viewing distance.
